Time to Walk Away

Time to Walk Away Some say love is lovelier the second time around. Some people believe that a temporary separation or a cool off from a troublesome relationship is healthy for a relationship because time apart makes the heart grow fonder. Of course, this is not true for all cases. There are times that a relationship is so scarred that it may not be such a good idea to give it another try anymore.

Again and Again

Just like the Taylor Swift song, "We are never getting back together" some problems in a relationship seem to repeat themselves over and over. It gets too predictable and even though they both know how things will turn out, they still get back together. Once or twice is enough. But no matter how much you love somebody, if he or she keeps making the same faults or your differences are too obvious for words, then why torture yourself by going back? It's like hitting yourself with a rock twice hoping it won't hurt that much the second time.

Liar Liar

Love is not the only important aspect of a relationship. Trust is the glue that keeps everything together. If your lover has lied to you more than once; and I am not talking about white lies but really deceptive lies that hurt you, then you should walk out the door. If he or she has cheated and lied to you once, it is certain that it can happen again. Your trust in the person will never be completely there anymore and it will always keep you thinking, is this person telling the truth? In a healthy relationship, both parties should have complete faith in each other. If this is not the case then your relationship is bound for more problems ahead.

In most relationships, love is so blind that at first we do not see that our lover is actually a player. There are times you may catch your lover flirting with someone. You may find pictures of him or her being cozy with someone else on Facebook. You may even catch a text or call from someone else too. Well, it is your choice to keep living in this situation. But I tell you, a healthy relationship is one where both parties are open and have nothing to hide. Some people are just meant to be flirtatious or worse, cheats. My advice is if you catch your lover cheating on you, don't take a second look and walk away. You deserve better.

One Sided Love

There are also relationships that may not involve a third party, but it requires you to be the one to give up and sacrifice things that mean a lot to you just to make your lover happy. Some people are just plain selfish or jealous to allow you to express and explore. If you feel trapped and repressed while you are with your lover, then you are in a one sided relationship. Relationships should be a give and take. You should compliment each other and not hinder each other from being your own person.

Not Worth Saving

Lastly, there are times that you may realize that you have fallen out of love or your partner no longer loves you. When this happens, you may find that it is best for both of you to be away from each other instead of living together hurting each other. Remember why you want to be in a relationship in the first place. You want to love and be loved back. And that is exactly what you should find.
