My Sacrifice For Love

When we love someone, we make a commitment to do whatever we can to make that person happy. We cannot live the same lifestyle as we did back when we were single. There are some things we will have to give up for the sake of love and happiness. Every relationship is unique. Some people are faced with having to give up things in their life that mean so much to them. That is when they have to decide if they would make that ultimate sacrifice in the name of love.

Exclusively Yours

If you've been used to dating different people from time to time, committing to someone may just be a big adjustment for you. You will have to give up your nightlife as a single person and get used to going out as a couple. This is not a very big sacrifice and it is something that you would want your partner to do for you as well, right? So throw away that little black book and enjoy your new life with the one you love.

We're Moving

When long distance lovers finally decide to be together, one of you will have to move. This means giving up your home, your family and friends to live with your lover. This may also mean you will have to make a drastic career change because you cannot work in the same place if you are miles away. But if you really love your partner, you will see this sacrifice as a new and exciting phase of your life. It's like a new chapter in your story where anything is possible.

Bad Habits

As you live together, your partner will get to know you better. Both of you will discover all your habits, may it be good or bad. In this process of getting to know each other, you will realize that you may need to get rid of some of your habits that annoy your partner. It can be as simple as sleeping in the nude or leaving the toilet seat up. It can be as challenging as giving up smoking or drinking. Either way, if you really love your partner, you will find a way to let go of these bad habits for the sake of peace.

Goodbye Kitty

Many things you've had all your life and loved forever may also have to go all for the sake of love. For instance, a woman had to give up her dear old cat because her husband was terribly allergic to it. One man had to give up his sports car to buy a bigger car that is more suitable for a growing family. It may be heartbreaking to part from these material things, but nothing is more important than the people we love.

Under the Knife

In the name of love, many people go through a painful sacrifice as well. Some choose to undergo plastic surgery to always look attractive to the person they love. Although this sounds shallow, it is a fact that people who go under the knife do it for the sake of making their partners happy.

Stepping Aside

Finally, I think the biggest sacrifice anyone can do for love is to step aside when they know that the one they love is no longer happy with them. It is a painful thing to do, but it is the ultimate test of love...to be willing to give up the one you love for him or her to be happy.
